Re: Black Mesa: Source

Heh, didnt see no such thread on the first page (and other threads dating back to april) so I thought ... well whatever.

True, you need the SDK, but youre independent of anything you'd have to pay for. So everybody can play it for free.

Black Mesa: Source

Stumbled over a youtube walkthrough of this source mod the other day which is a very accurate and extremely well done remake of the original Half-Life campaign. Believe me, it's even better than the original. Like a hour long blowjob for your eyes, ears and fingers. Didnt have as much fun playing a ...

Re: server down

Although Gameranger is not perfect, it is the best solution thus far to organize BZ2 online. I have yet to find a downside of GR. Actually it has advantages to gamespy. Gameranger stays in the background in your PC and alerts you to any host opening up a BZ2 game, or any other of your GR supported ...

Re: A mod selector for GameRanger

It worked alright so far, only one dude tried to join, got kicked because of bad assets, didnt communicate though nor try again. I like what youve done there, TnT, nice and simple.

Looks damn nice. Even coming with a nicely illustrated description. Trying to run it right now.

Re: Presidential Debate

It will be more like 1930. The Euro will fail, then the Dollar. Then what to do with the gazillions of government depending sheeple bred and imported during the welfare dacades? Pretty much the same situation that brought about a Hitler in Germany or a Roosevelt in the USA. Roosevelt wasnt a fascist...

Re: Presidential Debate

One more reason why Romney will be even worse than Obama. Protectionism made the Great Depression. Free markets are the solution but that takes balls which people lack today. People want the nanny state, and politicians want to be nannys. That works until they run out of other people's money. Next s...

Re: Presidential Debate

Both candidates are a torture to watch. I really cant bear either of them. When I see clips of them talking I immediately click them away. And of course Romney wouldnt make any difference. He only would drag out the big bang a little more than Obama would. So I wish Obama wins because the sooner the...

Re: server down

Simplest thing would be to advertise your running game at a popular hub, like a forum or a teamspeak server or whatever. Now Im not sure though what it takes to join a game by IP, both for the host and for the joiners. Do you need to open additional ports as a host? Does it suffice to enter the host...

Re: server down

As an intermediate crutch we could use a forum to advertise running games so people can join via IP. Not sure though how many of the regular players know this forum.

Re: server down

Why not set up our own server? Cant be that much bandwidth for the usual handful of open games.

Re: Observer

I read about your camera pods on bzmaps.us. Nice effort there. Whats the movement physics of this thing? Like a scout? Or do you just float to wherever you point?

Looking forward to some 1vs1 tournament videos.

Observer / Replay function

Wouldnt it be mega cool if you could join a human strat as observer, able to watch from sattelite, or switch to 1st person view of any player, and fraps it? I like to watch strat videos but there are so little of them and only from a single pilots/commanders perspective. edit: even cooler would be a...

Re: How do all of these different single player options work

I always build smart trucks and they already run away too far from their target for my taste. I set them to follow some gun tower or rocket tank in front of my main base and 10 minutes later they hang out in the back of my base cause they had to heal 1 health point on a power station. But I guess th...

Re: How do all of these different single player options work

Thanks. Both smart and hyper trucks do auto servicing. I never noticed the slightest difference between those two. They also cost the same.
