Re: Bionite: Origins needs Support!
still the networking master Dan? very interesting answer from the people at Rebellion. haha still working towards something :p at least they respond in a timely manner. I still think this could be good for Bionite too, this publicity could lead into some more interest. Hopefully it does, you can ne...

Re: Bionite: Origins needs Support!
I thought James 'TheJamsh' got the physics code from Battlezone 98 working in the Unreal 4 engine? I'm curious what engine they will be using.

Re: BREAKING: Rebellion Bringing Back Atari Battlezone in VR
I forgot these guys got the IP rights for Battlezone from Atari in 2013, smart move by them. I hope they take their time with it and do it justice. It's been a long wait, we can wait a bit longer for them to do it right. :- ) I can see them taking this onto consoles after PC, it's possible, especial...

Re: Bionite: Origins needs Support!
It's going to be a race now (maybe) to get this game finished before Rebellion get the Battlezone 98 remaster finished, unless you do something better/differently than their game. At least they 'just' started development and are in the very early stages. But this publicity for Battlezone again could...

Re: Project BZ?
I already worked on Bionite for about 2 years, there is no chance at me returning to that project either. I don't believe age matters. Passion, creativity and talent is what drives projects towards success. I am not going to wait 3 years just to wait and see if a project fails or not before making ...

Re: Project BZ?
This is its Moddb link. Going is currently slow, but good things are happening. It's been in development at least a two or three years now; it was spawned from the failed attempt at launching a community project on BZU in 2009. Oh nice that looks beautiful too. Great looking assets, good work so fa...

Re: Project BZ?
I'm not trying to burst an bubble or be negative, just a few things I think 'needs' to be said. Personally I'd wait for Bionite. No real project will come from this in a short time frame anyway and Bionite 'might' just provide for a good base to start working from (given that LtFeet would allow you...

Re: Project BZ?
Isn't there an issue with copyright and trademark or w/e or ? It wouldn't be called Battlezone 3, it's highly unlikely that we could call it Battlezone 3. There is some people I can get in touch with though through my LinkedIn.. When the time is right. I expect this to take awhile, but I really wan...

Re: Project BZ?
Awesome! I don't know if I ever seen that? But anyways once I have some more time I'm going to share some of my ideas that I've always had for a BZ project. I'd love to hear some of your guy's ideas too if anyone has some they're willing to share.

Re: Project BZ?
Whatever happens I'd like to be involved regardless. As others have commented I have a habit of digging up bits of narrative people haven't known for years, and whilst I love the expansions to the story it pains me to see where they don't quite fit in. I'd very much like to help prevent that happen...

Re: Project BZ?
When I think of a modern BZ I would probably think of it in two halves. I would look at the "Classic" era and the "Future" era. (Both games would use the same lobby, but would technically be separate games, a sort of 2 sides of the same coin as they have certain fundamental diff...

Re: Project BZ?
I agree that it is a large task, but why assume that no one in the Battlezone community doesn't know how to use Unity or maybe Ogre3D (C++)? Unreal would not be the choice of engine. My best friend is in university specifically studying the Unity game engine (4th year) and he's also a Battlezone fa...

Re: Project BZ?
That looks quite beautiful! 8-) Thanks for that bigbadbogie, hmmm.. One of my concerns with a mod is the process in which someone has to go through to get the mod working correctly. I know right now it's about a 3 step process (and not including this mod) to download/install Battlezone 2. That would...

Re: Project BZ?
Learning a new engine - be it Unity, Unreal, Source, idT or something else - is a large task. Most of the developers who enjoy BZ1 and 2 are primarily skilled in using the engines of BZ1 and 2 and it would take them years to learn a new one in order to create a game with it (not the months John ass...
