Re: Access Violation 1.3.6.2
The whole point of workarounds is to plug the holes until undesired behaviors or bugs get fixed 'upstream'. If your basement is flooding due to a faulty water line, do you put duct tape around the hole in the line to plug the leak temporarily, OR do you call the plumber? The smart answer is, you do...

Re: Access Violation 1.3.6.2
Workarounds aren't always necessary, as even if an AV is occurring due to something you are NEVER meant to do in stock, it is a good idea to plug the hole in the ever lengthening quest to make bz2 bulletproof. Pun absolutely intended.

Sabotage the next COD so it tanks and loses huge revenue? Unless that was their plan the last few years and it just won't die? "Here guys - we'll rerelease the same thing with subtle changes every year, shorten the campaign, get rid of servers, alienate the fan base with a lawsuit against Infin...

Re: caint install bz
For quite some time, running setup\setup.exe worked for people (i.e. the setup executable inside the setup folder). I've seen reports that it's not opening windows for some these days. Maybe it's required to right click and run it as an administrator? Patching the CD is really, really hard. The bes...

Re: caint install bz
GSH is most likely the only person here who was helpful. Don't jump the gun guys, he couldn't install it. It is a classic issue with the 16 bit autorun on a 64 bit system where they have to be told where to find the 32 bit installer. Wonder if we could create a new installer autorun that just point...

Re: Can anyone explain how morph targets works?
It won't. The only thing that can correctly do vert anims is the original softimage (that'd be nice) and apparently the new envelope exporter that only Nielk (creator) and Twosheds know how to utilize. Both of those programs being very powerful graphical engines, not sure it'll have the backbone to ...

My empirical view is seeing you quit games at the slightest bit of lag while any 3 people can't do splash damage on you and you want us to increase the network data just so you can see the whole map. But at this time in the life of the game, all this is moot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yw1Tgj9...

What long distance viewing? I think BFT is forgetting the natural occurrence of "moon fog," plaguing astronauts for generations.Apollo wrote:If you set the VD in the cfg to 300 that is 750 meters also if you are droping the fps under 75 then the pc is too slow to keep up, causing more lag online.

Re: how you make model
Use 3ds Max, It has an xsi exporter and a script now exists that allows people to create skin animations that work in bz2. Here is a lesson I call perspective: a guy asks how do I make a model, and you drop "creating skin animations" on him, something people that DO know how to make model...

I have to say that BBB's Hadean planet (sorry I forget the name ) was my favorite set of maps from the BZ series. It felt so surreal...almost like old N64 Battle For Naboo maps.
