Re: Swatting
I watched a vid of someone getting swatted during a livestream of CS. It was a bit funny to hear 'terrorists win' while the guy is on his knees and getting grilled by the SWAT team.

Re: Sticky: Why a 'Battlezone 3' is unlikely REPLY
I think a BZ3 would be radically different from both 1 and 2, assuming that strategy features in it at all. Any developer brave enough to produce 3, after 2's commercial failure, would be looking to make a far more "player friendly" multiplayer game, probably for a far higher number of in...

Re: Forgotten Enemies for 1.3.6.5 BETA
Here is the saved game from the "Two-minute warning" SP campaign mission: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/40900550/22.sav I cannot activate the Wormhole Controller. The objectives window displays "Logging on to the alien network" and nothing happens. Maybe someone tried to r...

Re: Multiplayer/Hosting Issues
Something on your computer may be interfering with the 'automatic port forwarding' that natneg tries to do. Software firewalls can do this, as can some antivirus programs (ie: avast) with internet/network watching daemons.

Re: Bionite: Origins needs Support!
The trailer should be scrapped, and I say this because it's bad and I don't want it to negatively impact the success of your project. You need to work with people who have some training in cinema and voice acting, even if they're undergrad art students. Storyboard the trailer if you have to. Make th...

Re: Bz2 crash
Sounds like a VSR-related crash. Blackdragon and I will take a look at it and find out what's causing it if possible and how to fix it. Can you tell us more about the crash, like was it a late-game/mid-game crash, did it happen on map loading? Has a crash ever happened like this before? (and if so, ...

Re: Pilot Issues
Sounds like a few possible problems.
- Putting the whole model on the turret object (which causes the whole model to move while looking, instead of just the arms and/or eyepoint)
- Pivot point(s) are facing the wrong direction (which leads to things tilting to the side rather than back and forth)

Re: server down
The 1.2 scion jammer was next to useless but I never really cared for the design of the stock 1.3 jammer either. It's far too powerful of a defensive object for it's price, and much like the Acid Cloud, the result of a needed buff that went too far. The fact that it could pretty much stop any attack...

Re: Improved Fslots not working
The VSR mod includes these changes as part of it's default enhancements and we've updated the files to work with the different shell scales (e.g. 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0). For those who want it on stock BZ2, i've packed up the files we use for that. http://zeroangel.overminddl1.com/hosted/improved-fslot-...

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.5 on Mac
FYI: Even versions of Wine (like 1.4, 1.6, etc) are part of the stable branch. Odd versions (e.g. 1.5, 1.7) are part of the unstable branch. The odd versions as a whole are inferior to, but necessary for, the stable versions. I'd only use an unstable version if I thought it could fix a compatibility...

Re: QF2 Discussion
How much screen area you have by differing aspect ratio is irrelevant in this interface... The corner pinning of the elements are optimal at all ratios. I even tried 10:16, though the resulting FOV made me ill. i believe he is saying that the balance between what's visible onscreen and the HUD can ...
