You've never been free to start with and never will be. All living things work based on the fact that the strongest are in control. With humans it means we have a government and those control our lives.
You cant say I'll just drive on the leftside of the road cause the government already said we should drive on the right side (or vice versa). You have to take your kids to a school that is being ran by the government as they see fit.

In other words, not only are you not free, you actually got conditioned from childhood by those that do control your life.

I'm now wondering if you're joking, or if you unknowingly are giving me ammo to state why it isnt that good a thing.

"I am home schooled"

Anyway, I still wouldnt recommend it.

Actually my primary education was full of depictions of revolution from tyranny, liberty, and all that jazz, and how it's all enshrined in the constitution.

Things have changed a lot since the 70s.

It was a joke. Why wouldn't you recommend it? (aside from the fact that you probably weren't home schooled)

There is a good chance you'd say the same if you grew up on the other ½ of the planet, yet still have an opposite stance towards what you now believe in.

You're correct, I havent. I would also not recommend it as you are more or less put in a more isolated environment. Yes it may protect you a bit more as a child but that also means you probably havent picked up (at that time) some subtleties concerning human interaction. An other thing I'd fear as parent is that I may personally be a bit biased or perhaps better said conditioned so I would not be able to give a child a well rounded education most countries/schools make sure to teach.
Schools will often do a similair thing but at that point you have:
-School
-Social interaction
-Parents
Those 3 should potentially support each other and give a child as much info/education/proper upbringing as they can, where just 1 or 2 would be less effective.

Going to school did very little for my social interaction. In fact, it is probably worse as a result :-P

Yeah, I've had plenty of social interaction despite being homeschooled, and believe me, my education thus far has been very well rounded, more so than the public schools.
