Re: Donations
Oh believe me, I chased the carrot for 12 years, No, the idea was to not-employ as many of us as possible, some people were taken on and then given early retirement within that period of my temporary employ. And yes of course I was just doing what I was hired to and did not expect a "bonus" for being successful at it. Unfortunately ultimately its all about maximising the pension fund return for the few, just another way of perverting a "private social security system" into their own personal lottery win. Unless you want to spend the first half of your life working hard to make something of yourself, only to end up on the scrap heap because someone else wants to be even richer when they retire, keep one eye open for this scam, it is very common.
The symptoms to watch out for are an unwillingness to properly "employ" staff, abuse of temporary contracts (in the UK>4 years is not legal) and regular bouts of early retirement for people contributing to the pension fund. The purpose of all of this is to maximise minimum time contributions into the fund thus reducing the overall payout bill, those who do manage to survive to fund maturity then receive very generous above average payouts. It is all packaged as "efficiency" but any observer will notice that the highly skilled don't hang around, and that the winners are usually the dullest yes men type, who actually contribute very little to the company's success. It is a very regressive non-dynamic and corrupt process.
Of course you may feel that the purpose of a pension fund is to massively reward only a tiny proportion of the people who contributed to it, and that this is perfectly ok. You, will of course be that winner!
There was a whole bunch of other "**** that's not supposed to happen" going down too, but that's a much bigger and uglier story than I can be bothered to go into here now.
My point is that the attitudes of the benefit sponger are not limited to the lower portions of society, they are endemic throughout it. You can't really blame a loser for getting what he can out of a system, when those near the top of the ladder are just doing exactly the same thing but on a much bigger scale.
I can't believe you use food stamps either, they are a system intended to ensure the equal delivery of a limited food supply. Using them as social security while having an abundance of food, is just deliberately keeping real money out of the hands of the poor, so that they stay poor and dependent on the state.
The people you should be aiming to cut social security to are the alcohol and drug dependent, you are not doing them any favours by giving them money, they need life to get real hard to focus their minds on what's actually killing them, themselves.

Re: Donations
Can't say it enough. . .
Two points trump all the esoteric arguments anyone may passionately or intelligently offer up.
1- The debt is now 15.6 trillion dollars.
2 - Federally funded entitlements and programs are wonderful, righteous and downright sweet. . . till. . . the people paying and working hard to provide run out of money.
Many people in the video believe ...in their heart... they are "getting over" on an 'unfair system' by grabbing as many undeserved handouts as possible.
With that deep belief, it will never end.

Re: Donations
I still want to know who had 15.6 trillion dollars to lend...
And yes of course they feel like that, wonder why? Maybe its because they are being subjected to a fictional economy.
I mean seriously who did you borrow $15.6 trillion from? God? The Planet of the golden egg laying goose people?
It was just wished into existence and in doing so everyone else on the planet got a little bit poorer, we will not be paid back.

Re: Donations
I agree with you on that. I am very much against the ability of the federal reserve to print money. We are arrested if caught counterfeiting, but the gov't can print as much as they want, effectively stealing from me by making my money worth less.

Re: Donations
Not just you but everyone, even starving kids and slum dwellers pay for it too. It is not debt it is theft.
Please regrow the base of your economy and stop screwing everyone else.

Re: Donations
well, they don't print it - they just add a few zeroes in a computer is all. if they did print a trillion dollars, it would look like this:

Re: Donations
I think there was a song about that:
Junkies down in Brooklyn are going crazy
They're laughing just like hungry dogs in the street
Policemen are hiding behind the skirts of little girls
Their eyes have turned the color of frozen meat
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
Joan Crawford has risen from the grave
Joan Crawford has risen from the grave
Catholic school girls have thrown away their mascara
They chain themselves to the axles of big Mac trucks
The sky is filled with herds of shivering angels
The fat lady laughs, "Gentlemen, start your trucks"
