First, hello and welome to the forums.

Secondly, with the Zimmerman case, we are still not sure of all the facts regarding the shooting as more are released with each passing day. Some people say Trayvon antagonized Zimmerman, others say Zimmerman was a racist who steryotyped. What we do know is that the media and supposedly "good" me like AL Sharpton have blown the situation out of proportion, and are more responsible for the hysteria and other racially charged incidents we have seen of late.

I find that most of the time those who scream racists are themselves often the racists, for they are unable to put anything other than race at the forefront of an issue or event.

I am willing to go even further. Racism isnt by definition that bad, thinking something about a culture/background isnt the same as acting upon it.

As an example. I'm no big fan of religion, but I can respect it and can 'not bash' it. I do have a hard time accepting when intelligent people are strong believers though. My grandfather was a very intelligent man, even got knighted, but I never got to understand why he was a strong believer .. yet there is nobody on this planet I respect more than I do the memory of that man.

According to official government stats, the vast majority of murders are within the same race -- i.e. (white killing white) or (black killing black). Is it really a racism problem when people are-- by far-- more likely to kill their own kind? Yes, each murder is-- let's call it what it is-- sin and painful for everyone involved. But, you cannot take a single datapoint and extrapolate from that.

However, what I do know for sure is Spike Lee needs his ass severely kicked for tweeting the address of a totally unrelated older white couple thinking it was Zimmerman's address, sending them into hiding for days from his racist, shoot-from-the hip followers.

If nothing else comes from this nightmare, we now know Lee for his true colors, a complete racist moron. All his past work on race and understanding now rings hollow. A racist devil in the clothes of a liberal black progressive.

Those who rush to judgement based on the race of those involved in the incident are in effect racists.

Not really, overt racism is a distinct way of thinking (hate). Response racism effects just about everyone, wether they are prepared to admit it or not, its just a response they have to anyone they perceive as different to themselves, it is not intentional or rooted in hate, it is a basic response common to all.
I don't see the crime here as a racist one, it is one easily committed by anyone who thinks its "normal" to walk around carrying a gun, a device designed to murder.
However the response to the crime, its ok mate we can understand why you followed, confronted and murdered an innocent person, you can go home now! almost certainly stems from overt racism and is just plain wrong. We call it institutional racism and people are right to be angry about that, the law must protect everyone.

The specific case that started this thread is best handled in a court of law, where all the facts can come out in an orderly manner, and witnesses cross-examined. Right now, it appears that the sides are releasing snippets of information that best portray their side and don't give the other side the opportunity to fully question any/all witnesses. Judging based on slanted information is wrong.

Saying 'racist' all the time is the domain of a particular BZ2 griefer, who has an IP very similar to the topic starter. Topic locked. Further attempts to bring it up will be met with swifter locks.
