Gamer archetypes
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartle_Test for info. Note: while some people may feel their preferred archetype is superior, that is not reciprocated.

Re: Gamer archetypes
Explorer, probably due to my preference of story over all other aspects of a game.
Re: Gamer archetypes
I like how only "Multi-player appeal to the Killer" has a weird extra paragraph praising people of that party grafted in by some random person.
Re: Gamer archetypes
Explorer mostly, somewhat Achiever, though not much.

Explorer, screw actually playing games. I'd disable enemies Duke3D style if given the chance. It's the environments and hidden places that grab me.

Re: Gamer archetypes
I like god games that let me play with a race of little pixle people like they're a home ant colony or something. Full control over environment, nothing to strain my little brain, and oodles of features.
Re: Gamer archetypes
Bit of a mix I guess, achiever, explorer and socializer.
I like to get to know a game/mission/map and make sure I found it all, conquered it all, got all bonusses. So my explorer side is probably just there to support my achiever side. The socializer bit stems from the fact I like playing supporting roles, keeping the group together, healed and stocked with ammo. But that may again be nothing more than a subtle way to support that explorer side even more, with a better team we might get farter and so explore and achieve more.
So it probably is just achiever ... interestingly, if you want any TF2 items I gladly trow them in some public bin for you to find ..

Re: Gamer archetypes
Just tried to take the test here. I answered about 6 questions before I got annoyed by the fact that I could only choose one of two answers, with either both being wrong or both being equally right.
If I had to guess I'd say 75% Killer, 30% Achiever, 60% Explorer and 35% Socializer. That's mostly based on my experiences with World of Warcraft. I'd spend more time in battlegrounds than just about anywhere else, acting as a team when it was best, or playing the lone wolf when it was best for the situation, but other than that I didn't spend much time with other players.
I loved carrying or escorting the flag in Warsong Gulch, especially when the enemy was right on our tails, just as much of a rush for me as BZ2.
Now I miss WoW... Great, thanks.

Re: Gamer archetypes
I took it. I'm 75% "Explorer", the rest are about equal.
