DragonForce!

Post by Iron Maiden »

Does anyoen else here love Dragonforce. I have recently been listening to alot of their stuff. While it is very cheesy, it is still incredibly cool sounding. Fortunatly, I being a bass player, am one of the only people, aside from keyboardists, capable of following along well.

For those unaquainted with their music, which is a form of heavy power metal, some of my favorites and their most well known:

Heroes of our time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4B28e4zPx3o

Fury of the Storm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i7qZxIC ... re=related

Through the Fire and Flames: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15JCb6P6 ... re=related

Operation Ground and Pound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoWOETJ6 ... re=related

Starfire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNApV7JJfXk

Scars of Yesteday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWsct3gg ... re=related

Please enter in the poll and explain your beliefs.

That is true, but that is clicking 5 buttons, shredding is shredding. Whether that says something good or bad about them I am not sure. I myself will admit they are not that good live from what I've heard, but nonetheles... DRAGONFORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never said they aren't a good band. They're all excellent players.

Just says something about Activision.

I have never heard of them. But I did just listen to "Heros of our time" and it was amazing. Ah, to be young again. I've never been much of a speed demon. But they seem to like it. The guitarists seem, uh, adequate. lol

They're one of the few "mainstream" groups that I listen to occasionally. I've been into their stuff as it seems like a natural extension of the group "Rhapsody", as they use mostly the same people and style as each other.

Didn't know if I said this yet:
Great band, but not my style.
It still has my respect, though.

Honestly can't stand them, find them pretty boring really. I know its fast and all, but thats about all it is. All the lyrics about "destiny" etc are very uninspiring and the drummer is so uncreative and boring.

They base themselves around Herman Li's speed unfortunately, if they slowed down a bit and spent more time writing songs instead of 'riff's they would probably fit better into my world.

I quite like this depiction of Dragonforce ;) (Excuse the uploaders over-enthusiam to advertise himself)

Something I like more about Breaking Benjamin: Inspiring, meaningful lyrics.
Most of BB's lyrics show how hard, yet powerful, life is.

The Jamsh: Seen the first one, and am aware of the humor of the second. While yes they are repetitive with their lyrics, I enjoy it. Let us not forget that metal lyrics tend to be based in fantasy and mythology, Dragonforce is simply taking it to the farthest possible means. I simply find it enjoyable to have nice, 7 minutes songs that allow to me to kick back, relax, and beleive I'm laying dragons.

BB: No.

No what?
Just one example: Give Me a Sign has religious values.

But anyway, I like more alternative rock than heavy metal or screamo.
I like 3DG as well as BB.
