Rap has its merits -- clever verbalization and use of flow and (verbal) rhythm. Not saying all rap does, but those are the staples of good rap. Also, some rap appeals usually to peoples aspirations -- money, power, sexual prowess, guts, etc; but some stuff people can relate to as well like rap about facing adversity or having to take tough action; or just delving into the violent aspect of their psyche as a fantasy.

I can realize that you havent yet developed an appreciation for rap as an art form, doesnt mean its objectively crap.

That said, rap's fine, but its 'wiggers' that I have a problem with -- punks that try to be like their favorite rappers (usually from a 'gangsta rap' genre) even though if they knew real street people and have to deal with the associated violence of living in the 'ghetto' (or any other lower class neighborhood of this sort where violence, crack/pill/meth dealers, home invasions, etc are the norm) they would quickly realize that they don't want that lifestyle after all.

On that note, a wonderful poser for one of the biggest posers.

One thing I hate more than even rap. Dubstep...

There was a perfectly good song on the radio today... Then it hit what is called "the drop" and it sounded like a slow motion saw through rubber that only someone with dystonia could dance to. Ruined a perfectly good song.

If given the truth, the people can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts - and beer.

+1
Rap is like any music genre - the stuff you're most likely to hear is the dregs. Takes some digging to find anything worth value.

I really think Disco Volante has rewired my ears, because I can't seem to relax to anything else.
