Oh, good. Now to wipe it out in the West as well.

EDIT: Apparently, a fair portion of the general American public doesn't seem to realise the First Amendment allows you to criticise the Second.

The White House could be forced to respond to a gun lobby petition to deport Piers Morgan
Can we (The British) start a petition insisting that they keep him?

The first amendment allows criticism, yes. But others can use their first amendment rights to criticize that speaker right back. Freedom of speech is not reserved only for the press. People have the right -- and I'd call it a responsibility -- to call out when the press is screwing up. If you screw up and make a jerk of yourself with a gun, you can and should be criticized. Even with the 2nd amendment. If you screw up and make a jerk of yourself with your mouth or printed words, you can and should be criticized. Even with the 1st amendment. That's how this country works. Don't like that? Should have been here in 1776 when this was being decided.

The point I am ridiculing is not the criticism but the petition for deportation.

:) its like ultimate Big brother, vote the (insert "undesirable" of choice) out of the entire country. Forget rights and freedoms, just turn the state into one massive reality game show, just think of all the money you could save if you didn't have to bother with expensive stuff like cops and courts and just use online justice polling instead! What a major coup for the Media Industry, control of public information and justice too. Soon all the ugly looking or disagreeably opinionated people can be locked up, sent into exile or just executed at the click of a mouse. :)
