Yes, believe it or not I don't even live in an igloo. I don't cross glacial ice flows on my way to work, either.
As unimaginable as it may seem, we do indeed get summer. Some places don't get winter at all, but rather a rainy season instead.
Just a couple of weeks ago the temperatures in Toronto were in the high 30s (C) and all this week here they were in the mid 30s.

On top of that, at least regionally, the UV index tends to be rather high. So even when it's only in and around 25-28C and there's a pleasant breeze off the lake, you get a burn pretty fast.

I know it's not that cold. Though I was under the very distinct impression that it was for the most part colder than it is here... and it's very rare for it to be warm enough to start leaving out the clothing.

When it's cold, it's undoubtedly colder. The weather goes in extremes. It's supposed to be around 38C here this week. Six months from now it'll be hitting -38C.

You should try it down here. It fairly regularly gets in the nineties, sometimes the hundreds, and it's muggy and humid all the time. It's like living in a jungle.

Hehe I have. And I've lived in muggy climates so I get the idea.
I used to work in the nation's capital. It was an easy job and it was outdoors work. Just something to get some extra cash while I was in school.
That summer there was a two week heat-wave that had temperatures soar to around 50C with the humidity.

Nah, I like the cold weather. You want to confuse the hell out Chapters staff? Go in and ask them if they have the Fodor's or Lonely Planet guide to Antarctica. They never take me seriously.

Seeing Jean-Pierre Dutilleux hold his camera up to the natives and take a few shots made me think of this thread for one of the biggest breakthroughs in photography since it went digital a couple decades ago.

Heck, THIS TECHNOLOGY could very well be as big a jump as moving pictures were to still photography. It's so advanced, it's even a bit hard to understand the optical physics of it. Sort of like having hundreds of lens taking the same photo. ;)
