Ron Paul is, unfortunately (to my knowledge), the only champion of the U.S. Constitution in Congress and votes against any and all bills that are not expressly defined in the Constitution - even if they go against popular opinion. Instead, he says that these matters should be handled by the States.

OMG cut the gas off! I can't stop laughing now. XD

No but seriously, I LAUGH at anyone who uses the Wiki for any sourcing regarding ANYTHING. I do not, and will NEVER trust that site for sources.

I do not like Ron Paul and nothing will change my mind. I may be Texan, but that doesn't make me a Republican or Democrat. I care not for either party and I'd rather see a growing support of Independents and Libertarians now.

I've scoured over sponsored and cosponsored bills by Ron Paul. Some I don't agree with, others will probably get nowhere anyway. If anyone wants a *good* source, try http://www.govtrack.us instead since Wiki is not all that reliable.

"I do not, and will NEVER"

I can name 3 other things that you do not and will NEVER. One of those is putting info online isn't it :)

Just keeping a running list is all

Do you see those little numbers? Those are source markings. Of which that page has 71 of alone. Those are external sources that have no affiliation with Wikipedia. If you weren't so blatantly biased you might try checking them out or at least realising they exist sometime. I expect you'll be using another "BUT IT'S WIKIPEDIA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! LALALALAL!!!" response, but there you have it.

I'm not even interested in US politics in the slightest.

I see Pawlenty has dropped out.

Looks like Bachman's next target is Perry.

I didn't get to see it live I just watch and the read the mess afterward. If we don't get a good 3rd party going in this country we'll have a new civil war Democrats vs Republicans. I say let it happen and let them kill each other then a 3rd party can clean up the mess the other 2 have made of this country.

Sadly OldFart, it may come to that, and it will be a sad day when it does.

Also, PR, you beat me to it!

well, seeing that Perry is just another flip-flopper like Romney (Perry was Al Gore's Texas campaign chairman in 1988: http://echochambers.wordpress.com/2011/ ... n-manager/ and http://www.enviroknow.com/2011/06/23/ri ... gore-1988/

and Romney? Yet another establishment politician who changes his position faster than a wind vane in thunderstorm: http://mittromneyflipflops.com/

Bachmann: Former IRS attorney: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc ... er/241735/

Ron Paul? He accurately predicted the housing bubble collapse, the current deficit expansion, the wars in central asia, the devaluation of the dollar, etc., etc. How? Because - unlike the others - he is a man of principles who has never wavered in his positions and beliefs and has a very solid understanding of economics and finance:

But don't take my word for it. Instead, just listen to his predictions from 10 years ago:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNDvLRUe ... r_embedded

Seeing that all of Ron Paul's predictions have come true (the Fed has kept interest rates artificially low or non-existent), he predicts that the dollar will be destroyed. Will most people listen? Probably not.

It's up to people to listen to a proven record of success in predicting the outcome of policies or not, but the herd generally likes embracing smoke and mirrors more than seeing reality - until reality arrives on their front door and it is too late.

The left wing media is pretty much out of the closet now in their obviousness supporting the left.
lol oh damn you beat me to that pic!

As for "out of the closet" I'd say militantly anti-gay republicans have everyone beat on that. :)
What's the ratio on militantly anti-gay republican politicians that end up in gay scandals themselves? 1:1?

Seriously, though, American politics drive me nuts. Even before the votes are counted on an election you're already in full gear ramping up for the next one. I can't keep up with all the other elections and runnings that pop up inbetween.
Don't you guys ever take a break? :D

Seems to me it would be tedious and distracting if at every moment you'd be worrying about who the next leader was.

The candidate with the crazy eyes obviously knows her way around a corn dog. Let's put her in charge of the largest nuclear arsenal in the world!

+1

I don't know if I could trust any of them. They're all equally willing to change their stance on anything and stonewall those who ask the tough questions just so long as they can cement a large enough following to be a contender.
Saw an interview with Bachmann like that just today. Interviewer played her a speech she gave in 2004, called her on some of her statements, and naturally, she stonewalled him by answering with what weren't answers to his questions....just the typical rhetoric. Wouldn't it be nice if in an interview like that a politician was actually honest? "Hell yeah I said that."

I wonder how much differently the political arena would look if corporate donations/backing to parties and candidates were explicitly banned with and such activity would result in monstrous prison sentences.
