I haven't liked AVG for awhile now. I recommend you try out Avira -- it pops up a nag screen a couple of times a day but the nag screen really isn't that bad; failing that I would probably go for Avast!, though I haven't used that one in years so can't really say if it's still good.
I learned that the Avira free software = FAIL
Totally failed to cope with a browser hijack and was unable to find 183 other issues, some of which had been on the system for some time. £20 for stopzilla....
Apparently a one of two young siblings, most likely around the age of eight or summat, that was crossing a street was thrown around 150 feet after being hit by a truck in front of the house where I used to live. That's what happens when you take the crossing guard away... Can't tell if the kid was a boy or a girl. It'll probably be on the news later tomorrow. The bodies sure are piling up this winter. Car crashes and such...
That hacky code can cause serious problems. Especially in C#. (Not my code, but I did have the unfortunate pleasure of debugging something with a single try{};catch{} for ten variables at once, and a do{} which had its own whiles stored within it...)
