Apollo 13? Fairly accurate to the book, which was written by Lovell (the astronaut played by Hanks). They mostly collapse the multiple ground crews into one to simplify casting & confusion. (E.g. to be truly realistic, they'd have a different EECOM guy between two scenes, because they takes place 2 hours later, and the ground crew rotates every 8 hours.)
If you have time, rewatch the movie with commentary by Lovell and his wife on. That's comments straight from the horse's mouth -- the guy who was *there*. And read the book -- originally titled 'Lost Moon', then renamed Apollo 13 to match the movie.

Yes, It looks very promising. I really like how there's a lengthy intro on earth to provide some background and balance. I went through the Barsoom phase when I was a teen. Something about battling the unknown with lots of hot exotic woman offering their gratitude. . .Red Spot wrote:Pretty much a must see, it may even be one I might buy on DVD.

I have not been interested in John Carter. Nothing Disney passes out makes me interested.

Burroughs is largely grand at stealing the soul of boys from around 12 to 20. Tales of athletic grandeur along with some "unique" advantage.Red Spot wrote:Almost makes you wonder if he'd do all that without the .. ehmm .. gratitude
He gave the reader the glorious mind trip of swingin' fists as much as sperm.
However, to me, Robert E. Howard (Conan, Tarzan) and John Norman (Gor series), may actually be slightly better at achieving that raw testosterone craziness.

Yakuza Weapon is a great movie. I like it mostly for the disturbing sexual situations and super cheesiness.
