Contagion - watched it last night. realistic scenes of panicked people freaking out, dying. thought provoking.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original Swedish version with subtitles) - excellent gut-wrenching suspense/mystery/story

Iron Man 2 - good action, snarky Stark comments, Scarlett Johansson in body-hugging leather going ninja

So is this like a movie, where we post movies we've watched recently and what we think of it :D
I LOVE MOVIES! :D
Anyway:
A Bronx Tale - Amazingly touching movie, very underrated, and very realistic.

Memento - Brilliant movie. All of Christopher Nolan's are. It's told in an original way and everytime I watch it I see something I didn't notice before.

One thing I've always been a little curious about is the contradiction or dichotomy between a movie like Contagion, with its extremely deadly and contagious virus, and say... the upcoming big budget zombie offering, World War Z.

Both virus' are ultra contagious, but the virus in WWZ is 'understood' to be much more horrific. But where does that assumption come from? Is it the assumed drama and violence and Hollywood wanting to be as scary as possible?

I would offer the virus in Contagion would be more dangerous and "dramatic". Once someone has been bitten or exposed to the zombie virus, the transformation is quick and very recognizable. The zombie has no real intelligence, about equivalent to a rat, so avoidance in "real life", would be relatively easy.

As opposed to an extremely deadly hemorrhagic fever-type virus, where a highly contagious individual could spread the virus without even be aware they are doing it. And once they are aware, they are still intelligent individuals that are in full panic mode, many willing to expose others for the short gain of shelter, food, water, comfort, etc.

I would personally fear that over a zombie apocalypse.

Watched the new Star Trek(5?) a couple days ago. I liked it. The beginning was a big cliche, and the final conflict left me unsatisfied, but I think I enjoyed it for the most part.

The most recent Star Trek movie (with the much younger cast) is technically the 10th movie.

The actual 5th Star Trek movie is utter dreck and shouldn't be considered.

Fake trailer, unfortunately. A film of WWZ might actually be pretty good.

O Brother Where Art Thou - Really good movie, and one of my favorite movies.
Cowboys & Aliens - Not bad, but not the best movie either. It has some nice characters and action sequences. It was very enjoyable, but still had its problems.

Cowboys & Aliens was mindless enjoyable entertainment that provided some nice paychecks.
