Anyone ever heard of this band?
You probably did somewhere, because it's music is everywhere.
My favs:
1. Protectors of the Earth
2. Destiny of Mankind
3. Tristen
4. Heart of Courage
It's epic...

Actually no. But I don't listen to the radio at all and just recently did away with my satellite tv because I never watch it.

Ever heard of Estradasphere? Secret Chiefs 3? The Cows? Heroine Sheiks? Banned from Atlantis? Tomahawk? The Jesus Lizard? Kate Bush? QueenAdreena? Failure? Ghostigital? Handsome Boy Modelling School? Themselves? Joy Division? Killing Joke? Mike Ladd? Nash the Slash? Red Snapper? Sleepytime Gorilla Museum? Spring Heel Jack? Old Time Relijin? The Bug? The Death Set? The Melvins? ... oh **** I got carried away.

Yes, I listen to Two Steps From Hell. I love their stuff. They do trailer music for tv shows and movies, but their soundtracks are usually significantly better than the movies they're used for.

Shadow Knight got it right on!

Also, I don't know half those bands, but I do know Iron Maiden! :)

Two Steps From Hell aren't really a band, more a music production duo. They write it, and they produce it, but most of it is played by an orchestra (they do the rock sections IIRC). I love their music, and I'm glad somebody's given them a mention over here.

It's such a shame so little of their stuff can be obtained legally. One album is available for sale, the others are all demos given to various companies.

Then how do people put the music up on Youtube?
I just listen to the Youtube videos while I do stuff.

It gets leaked from the companies, and of course gets used in trailers and films.

Pathogen is a very different feel too the rest of their albums, and alongside Ashes and Nemesis is one of my favourites.

Would it be illegal to take the music from Youtube videos or trailers?

Not necessarily. If a movie studio wants their stuff off youtube, they're usually pretty quick to get it taken down. Not always though.
Feel free to rip those songs from the trailers. It will always be poor quality audio though.

So most of their music is soundtracks? Can you not find the soundtracks anywhere? Or are they more movie scores? I've always found movie score albums are harder to find by far.

TSFH music isn't in soundtracks as I know.
They're in the trailers of stuff, but never in the actual movies.
Freedom Fighters - Star Trek movie trailer
Heart of Courage - Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Disney XD commercial for Naruto.

I'd like to rip their songs and put it in my movie project, Battlezone: Last Stand.

Their music is technically neo-classical, but much like Rachmaninoff was slated for writing film scores Two Steps from Hell are often overlooked. They write their music as soundtracks most of the time as far as I'm aware - just as I write mine to be soundtracks, when I set out to write a proper track it sounds terrible - but it doesn't always get used. Some tracks I've never heard anywhere before.

Same here.
I'm looking at them all and I've found some cool ones.
I plan on putting them in Battlezone: Last Stand as I mentioned before.
It has a nice feel to it, and there are different songs for different moods.

I found maybe 5-7 albums of theirs on demonoid. Not downloading them, just saying.
