Did anyone cathc the debate between the GOP candidates tonight? Pretty good. Gingrich spoke well and I am almost tempted to support him. They seemed to keep forcing Bachmann and Pawlenty against each other. The question about Bachmann subjecting to her husband was downright stupid. I enjoyed Romney and Cain and may support them if they become the running pair, although I did become intrested in Hunstman and would enjoy seeing him become a serious candidate in the future. Ron Pual spoke well, but some of his idea's I just downright disagree with.

I watched it. To me the standouts were...

Bachman. She is a hard line, no-nonsense congressman. Maybe a bit too uncompromising, but at this point in time, with a debt that's beyond insane, we may need some hard, tough love.

Ron Paul. A little wacky and mousy, but he knows the economic issues as well as any of the candidates and is also willing to take measures to actually correct the crazy course our country is going.

Newt knows inside the beltline government probably better than the others, but his defensiveness to the referees/interviewers made it obvious he's got some huge issues to overcome. How can he correct America's course if he can't even manage his own financial problems?

The rest obviously want to do the right thing, but appear would be 'just another politician' if they were elected.

I remember Ron Paul's name popping up alittle during the 2008 elections, I heard some rumor they were trying to downplay him in favor for McCain. Gotta love rumors.

Ron Paul is definatly a respetable person, but I just disagree with some of his views, especially during the wuestions about Iran and his debate with Santourum.

it bothers me that the national after-debate poll run by Fox *clearly* shows Ron Paul as the winner of the debate, yet he is consistently marginalized by Fox. Fox keeps saying that Pretty Boy Romney is the front-runner, yet the votes do not support that view. Ron Paul got 4 times as many votes as Romney:

edit: not only that, you cannot find this poll on Fox's site any more, presumably because it does not fit the official company position, which is to push/promote Romney.

Don't believe it? Listen to any of the Fox shows and they consistently say that Romney is the front-runner - even though he is not supported by the polls or people.

If anyone's interested, Ron Paul has an entire forum dedicated to him on Timedisruptor. It's pretty extensive but also outdated, it's mostly filled with his exploits in the '08 campaign.

There are two people I am NOT voting for, if I were to be voting next year. Those two are Rick Perry *and* Ron Paul.

Perry because though he has done some good for our state, he lacks in other areas that we're falling behind on tremendously. Texas education is dropping fast, in part due by the Government, and our Governor. He has done nothing about it for years.

Ron Paul because he is an active supporter for a couple bills I am extremely against. I can't find anything right now, but if I do, I'll link them. I believe (and I'm taking a long shot on this one) he has at least cosponsored a couple bills that are disguised to fight child porn, but in reality do not and only infringe on the 4th amendment heavily. I'm sure he also supports the PROTECT IP Act as well, and I'm wholeheartedly against it as well.

There's a lot of candidates I don't really like. Bachmann seems good, not sure on her, my favorite at the moment is Herman Cain right now. I think he has a chance compared to the others that are career politicians, which we don't need more of.

I was unaware of this about Perry, must do some more research on my part.

TS, you are misled or misinformed about Ron Paul. If anything, he would oppose such bills as Protect IP or any bill that gives even *more* power to the already bloated federal government.

Ron Paul is, unfortunately (to my knowledge), the only champion of the U.S. Constitution in Congress and votes against any and all bills that are not expressly defined in the Constitution - even if they go against popular opinion. Instead, he says that these matters should be handled by the States.

Looks like Bachman won the straw vote. I still think she is being brough up for her downfall however by much of the media, as I myself doubt her leadership abilaties.

Newsweek's silly cover photo was obvious they want to diminish her image.

And the suggestions she's practicing "negotiating" with the higher courts, etc.



The left wing media is pretty much out of the closet now in their obviousness supporting the left.

too bad there isn't a candidate named Turner running...
