The Pirates will be celebrating tonight, the act will be about as effective as alcohol prohibition once was and will probably ensure the growth and success of a global "pirate internet" as the rest of the world deliberately fails to mirror US legislation.

I don't personally trust the Wiki as a source, but that aside, I have seen a little about SOPA. Grant it, was only a news ticker on Fox News I noticed it, but I already figured it was going to be COICA v2 or something like PROTECT IP.
Pirates will be here, regardless of what is passed into law. Its the companies themselves that determines how hard pirates will fight to crack any protection on CD's/DVD's/BD's and bypass activation processes. At least until these said companies stop hurting the consumers themselves, but of course.. all they care about is the money that comes in.
