If you create models for other video games like Unreal Tournament or games created with the UDK game engine there are several TS 7.61 (Rosettastone) RSX plugin importers and exporters for ASE, UR, PSA, PSK, FBX and DAE. The first 4 are for Unreal and the last is the Collada format. FBX, I'm not sure about? Anyone else know? There's an active TS forum where users are creating and releasing new plugin and addon all the time too. United 3D Artists. They also have a section for other 3D Model software like Lightwave, Blender, Sketchup, Poser, etc. Other Modeling Software.
The original TS 7.6 with TS 6 has several TSX plugins for ASE, UR, OBJ, and an additional TrueX exporter. By default TS 6 also has exporters for 3DS, ASC, DFX, CAN, X, and STL
I have both versions installed and and use the native TS RSOBJ format for use between 7.6 and 7.61 and of course my favorite Truespace 6. If your at all familar with the original TS user layout, i.e., lots and lots of fun little icons the new interface has been streamlined to a single menu bar. 7.61 is even simpler as it doesn't have the modelside like the old Caligari 3D modelers.
Additionally, there are TS plugins for Rendering and Animation too. Just do a search for Truespace plugins; some are no longer available, but new one's for 7.61 are being made using VBScript, JScript, C++, and Visual Basic I believe, and Truespace also supports a Python Scripting.
I'm really surprized that more 3D model makers haven't tried using Truespace for Battlezone II. I can see not using it because they use another product like MAX or Blender, but I'm dumb founded on those who haven't found another product already. Is it that some people just feel intimidated by 3D modeling software in general? Really could use some feedback on the topic. Thanks.
Good news for Truespace 7.6 and 7.61 users.
