Rome:Total War is $1/1euro today only. Don't think I've ever seen a top-notch title for that low on any regular or holiday sale.

The master collection is pretty sweet, if you want all the titles and havent bought them already.

Steam is currently having a large sale, just thought I'd bring it up.

Also, if you are interested in a fun stratagy game, Total war: Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai is really great and does not require the original Shogun 2 to play.

This sale is huge. It's killing me that I have to wait until the end of the week to make sure Arkham City and Half Life 2: Episode 1&2 don't go on sale for cheaper.

Make sure you put down the extra €2,50 so you get all 5 expansions for it as well.

Edit: Just noticed this game. I hate the genre, but the video rocks :D

I have to say, Gog.com's bulk sales make a lot more sense. (Plus, they're DRM free, etc). But, take an example:

- On Steam, I have Titan Quest, Metro 2033, maybe 1-2 other THQ titles I thought were worth getting. Steam has a publisher bulk sale for THQ. Fixed price, no matter what I own, and I do not get extra copies of what I already own to gift.

- On gog.com, I have several Might & Magic titles already. Today, they have a Might & Magic franchise sale, 75% off the titles. (50% off if buying those titles individually.) They tracked my previous purchases, and offered the unpurchased titles at 75% off, and the titles I already had weren't included in the total (i.e., cost of zero). That was a subtle but meaningful way to reward customers for past purchases.

Bought the Stronghold pack yesterday, from Steam. Nice deal. However there is a HD-pack, but you cant apply it to the Steam version, you can apply it to the Gog version ...
Lesson learned, check gog.com before buying from Steam.

I have to get into GoG more. Lately I've been making use of Steam, Amazon, Gamersgate, etc. Steam is getting killed on some deals by Amazon, and Amazon is given Steam keys in some cases.

I also got in on the pricing error on GamersGate which caused the site to nearly die with usage strain.

In case you want to get in the mood for Rome II, the original Rome total war is currently a dollar, leaving you enough left over to maybe preorder Rome II ;)
