Quick question: 3D Studio Max

Post by Apollo »

Anyone know if there is a way to set the wireframe tank at 100% scale in the view ports?

I'm looking for a way to one click have the view port images of the models the actual size. (as the tanks are small enough to fit on screen @ 100% scale)

Max 7 has a button called zoom extents, icon looks like a box.

Actual size would be impossible since your screen is of unknown dimension, plus there is perspective to worry about in some cases. Plus, in Max, if you are doing it right for BZ, you are working in Meters, which would be far bigger than your screen.

I use zoom extents all and zoom all to adjust it but the setting won't hold well.

Size of a grizzly in Bz is far smaller than my screen.
x: 15.769cm
y: 16.922cm
z: 6.943cm
or
x: 6.208"
y: 6.662"
z: 2.733"

I doubt you are going to be able to create a parallel between BZ1 and 3DSMax. 3DSMax's zoom isn't that precise. The only way you can do what you want is to place a camera in the scene and alter the camera's settings so they match the game's projection parameters, and then view from that camera.
