JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
I've been putting JAK Killers on my Mire test maps, but they don't seem to want to attack me, like they do in other missions, is there a command I can give them from the editor that will make them look for pilots to eat? When I simply place them, if I get out of my tank and run up to them and even shoot them to get their attention, they just stand there and dip their heads like they are grazing for insects.
Also, what other mods have had interesting wild animals made for them that are good to add in to a game? I did find a couple in UEP - tried adding the Razor Jaw to my constructor menu, but it looks a bit artificial, maybe it was meant to be a vehicle, like the Snow Crab and others. Some alien snakes and gator type things would be good additions to Mire.
I wish water worked better in BZ2, if you could SCUBA in it and use subs you could have some interesting mods - tracked underwater extractors that deploy on special underwater pools, maybe. These could not be seen from the surface and have to be hunted with subs. You could have things like Murk Eels on Mire and Glacier Sharks on Bane to cause grief for the player - imagine being blasted out of your sub, floating in the water and turning to see a giant crystalline shark grinning at you in the depths of a Bane glacier sea.... hmmm. There is a "fishy" pic for Mire (I presume), I guess another idea left out of the game, like lava worms.

I am not sure, but try placing the animals on an enemy team?

Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
The Razor Jaw was not meant to be a vehicle. It is an animal.
Animals attack pilots regardless of teams.
It could be another one of the countless screw ups in the new 1.3 patch.

Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
It is not true, nor has it ever been true, that animals attack human units on any team that is allied or neutral to them with the exception of under direct orders by the mission script. This is not an error in 1.3 and is how it has always been.bigbadbogie wrote:The Razor Jaw was not meant to be a vehicle. It is an animal.

The fact the game in version 1.3 does not affirmation your claims does not make it broken. There are enough real issues to worry about.
Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
Hmm. Ice Rhinos that are enemy will bite pilots in "On Thin Ice". I really can't remember what animals were neutrals in SP, tho some were.
Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
The only animals encountered in SP as far as I remember are the Boids, Jaks and Ice Rhinos, but there are cut assets for creatures from all five alien planets.

units can be set (in code) to appear like they're on any team, so, if a unit appears to be on your team and he's attacking you, just shoot it.
If given the truth, the people can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts - and beer.

Did you put that where you intended to?

Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
I remember that happening on the FE campaign in that mission where you get to choose whether you want to stay with the EDF or join the Hadeans. It was weird to be attacked by cerberi that had 'Ally' IFF colors.Red Devil wrote:units can be set (in code) to appear like they're on any team, so, if a unit appears to be on your team and he's attacking you, just shoot it.
I wonder if that was a bug or if it was intended; like the cerberi hacking into the EDF networks and messing with their IFF system.

Fairly sure it was a bug; I've never seen a version of that mission that worked as intended.

Re: JAK Killers and other pilot munchers
That mission has never worked properly, and probably never will. I don't know how one would go to the EDF campaign as the DLL doesn't trigger the switch like its suppose to for that event, thus leaving you stuck always playing on the Hadean ending. I remember there was a way you could do the EDF ending, but I honestly don't remember how.
If you happen to be looking through my posts, I have completely dumped all things related to Battlezone. Do not contact me, do not bother me. Been harassed enough as it is and am done entirely.
