xsi files

Post by XxHAMADEHxX »

Why do we have to download xsi files separately?
Why cant we get them from some file thingy like a pak file?

Because when the game loads the files it compiles them into .msh and then it doesn't need the xsi anymore. The pak only contains .msh files.

I believe Nielk or someone is trying to reverse engineer the msh format, but for the longest time they were considered unable to be edited.

Oh that's done and working and has already been used to fix some things, but it is private access.

Not really. The xsi/msh format allows people who make models to restrict their use by others without their consent.
So logically If you have the xsi then you have consent to use that model. Its up to the model maker to decide wether to release the xsi or not.
