You know what we could really use? Some new Instant Action development. What else is there to do when there are no good Multiplayer games up? It really seems to be atrophying. Any links? Will mpi maps work?

Ok, I shouldn't have said that. What if you can't host? What if you don't have internet? We can't just let it wither like this.

You can still create a lanonly game, even w/o internet. You can *always* host, even if nobody joins. DM w/ bots and MPI are going to be the most satisfying modes. If you haven't gathered yet, MPI by yourself == IA. MPI with joiners = MPI.

That seems awfully unprofessional.

So does not being able to host...
Fix your router

With the introduction of MPI, IA became obsolete.

The bad part about MPI is if you don't have enough time to finish a game you can't save it and continue later like in IA.

Precisely.
It is not unprofessional to not be able to host. It is unprofessional for the developers of a game to leave one part of a game to wither while letting another part do its job, and not as well at that.

featherbat?
Come to think of it, IA is not withering. It's just not growing.

I occasionally convert MPI/ST maps to IA, or even make entirely new maps. Mostly when the mood strikes me. Right now I have about 18 extra IA maps in my list, most of which are perfectly playable and releasable. A handful are mostly playable but are waiting for me to get in the mood to fix some minor pathing issues. Other than that, the only thing holding me back from releasing them is not knowing our policy on crediting original map creators properly when converting their maps to a different game style.
By far the biggest obstacle is my own fluctuating interest in converting them, the process is easy but far from interesting.
Heh, I recently converted the ST: Tranquility map to IA. A game on that map as ISDF vs Scion took me over 4 hours and several saves to complete. Felt like that exceedingly long FE mission on Miasma where you had to blow up the bridge. There were Maulers climbing over the hills at the back of my base, constant Archer attacks on far away outposts from areas I could barely reach, Service Trucks being eaten by stray Maulers or diving into the water... Kinda makes me want to play another game there.
(Main problem with IA: Tranquility is the AI pathing, aka trucks diving into water more than usual.)

I found it makes it a lot easier if you move your deploy as far to the left side as you can.
http://bzuniverse.bzscrap.org/index.php ... 486.0.html - not sure if it's earlier or later than APC's version, but it's the same thing.
