The future.

Because I have been extremely busy completing my final year of school, QF2 production has slowed down.
It has NOT stopped! I have even been working on it in class at times!
I have progressed beyond the point of no return and have simply done too much work to abandon this mod now. It will definitely be finished.
Furthermore, I have made a couple of decisions about the future of my modding.
I am going to make Fleshstorm 3.
I am also going to make another mod after that which I am intending to be an HD remake of the original Battlezone II.
I will have a great deal more spare time over the coming years and I am fully committed to completing these goals.

...With one important omission.
I'm talking about redoing the 3d models, making HD textures and revamping the maps to look more realistic.
I may even add new missions and change elements to make the game more like the way it was originally indended to be. Perhaps making new units from the old concept art... that sort of thing.

BBB, you are a credit to the spirit of BZ2 and the community. Great to hear this news and hope everything comes out well. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I may make the HD Redux mod an open community project which I control when the time comes.

Anyone can start an open community project. They usually fail.
The omission of "which I control" is usually why.
QF2? Eh, I'm assuming it is much better than QF1, which I never finished.
FS3? Oh dear god I need an underpants change. [/change] Oh dear god I need to do it again.
You sir have rekindled my interest in bz2.

I know, I've started it lol... Like you however I plan on continuing my future projects alone as much as possible until ready for beta testing.

I will control it to make sure it doesn't die... and to maintain a standard of quality.
Why didn't you finish QF1? It might be kinda ugly (I was new to modding) but it has some seriously fun missions. Avoid missions 1, 2, 4 and 7 and the first bonus mission, but the rest are pretty good considering.
And yes. QF2 uses nothing whatsoever from QF1 and is graphically the best looking mod ever for BZ2 *by far* even in the pre alpha stage it is in now.

Since you asked so nicely...
Just a shot from a basic test map I threw together in about half an hour. Actual mapping has not yet begun.

Good to see the progress regardless! Would you at some point care to post some tutorials or tips for adding terrain to the base of skydomes. I can never seem to do it very well without just cutting it out of somebody elses skydome
