Hello world!

Post by scout109 »

It has been a very long time since I have thought of this wonderful game (BZ2). I have played it since its release and I was part of The Starfleet Platoon clan (Also played all mod packs released by them). This game had me playing it for many years, mostly because I LOVED MAKING MAPS and making new vehicle and weapon types. I once made a mortar weapon for the pilot that acted like a airstrike or a point defense archer that shot bubbles that when expanded shot the target across the map (But I am sure all of you had done stuff like this :D). One of my favorite weapons was from starfleet mod a mortar that sucked in units with a black effect and exploded. I would spawn atleast 100 archers and then s enemy scavenger and watch my computer freeze xD

Anyway, hello! I am new around here :P Hope to maek friends and stuff! Maybe get back into BZ2 again...

I do have couple questions which is..

Anyone remember that mod that made it possible to manipulate the editor camera like a freecam?

Any mods released that improve graphics? Though I know its not needed I just wondering :D

Welcome.

I don't know anything about a mod that lets you do that. I always just have my arrow keys set up to control camera pitch and yaw and it works fine in the editor.

Not much in the way of graphics improving mods. The only released one that I know of is the 'Teamcolor Fix' that is included in the Unofficial Expansion Pack and also in ZA's Addon Pack. The teamcolor addon is mostly useful in multiplayer games to better control how unit colors are tinted.

The 1.3.5 (and up) patches improve graphics by using DirectX 9 for transform & lighting. You can run at much higher resolutions and at higher framerates with a recent patch. And, it's generally far more compatible with recent graphics chips.
