HOSTING TROUGH HAMACHI SUB-0

Post by SUB-0 »

Hosting with Hamachi is also a very simple way to play a multyplayer game. And many players over this passed decade have been using it since it was sugested to me about 7 or so years ago by a player called lunatrick ....if anyone remebers him ? just ask him...it came about in the 1.2 era when AVing games was at its peak and trolling was popular ...it became and invisible host and thus safer from attacks...I tryed it and it worked very well ...The lag was no more than the gamespy server...I kept it as a reserve solution should this day come

here is a quick tutorial http://www.sub-00.com/hostingtroughhamachi.htm

Hope it helps some may find this is an alternative

There's a limit of five people connected to each VPN.

You still would need to open ports.

Nielk1's interim Minecraft server (to replace the normal one we use while it was down) used Hamachi and the most I remember us having on at a time was something stupid like eight or nine. Let's see... me, Nielk, Rettro, Steeveeo, Warfreak, Hadleyr, Azrellion and... someone.

I burned Hamachi with fire after that when they implemented the network machine limit. PH is right.

Aah, *that's* why you don't have it any more. I haven't used it since then, so given that it's a new(ish) implementation I didn't know. Yeah, don't use Hamachi.

Is that a purely artificial limit designed to make you pay them?

hi guys good points ...indeed the older version was better since you could host alot of players

I am sure a lot of you have already figured this out

As most of you who use LogMeIn Hamachi have noticed, that recently they have put limits on how many poeple can join a network to 5.
But there is a simple way to get around this limit!

Simply have multiple networks, but make sure the server host is on each one of those networks. So basically I have about 8 players on my private server, but each of them play on different computers, so in order to accomplish this I make 3 different networks, but put the server host on each one. Then simply tell people to join the first one, once that is full, the second and so on.

I hope this helped you guys out! also ther are many ways of tricking or hacking hamachi :) just google it you find a boat load of em.

and no there is no need to forward ports in router with hamachi it the whole reason of hamcahi.
another alternative is using an older version of hamachi . to name a few
but i do see your point .
was an idea just putting it out there.

That would limit you to five people per game though, surely?
