Blast from the past :)

Post by Transgressor »

Hello,

I have no idea who might troll this forum, but I wanted to say hello the what I assume remains of the BZ2 community, its been at least 8 years since I last touched BZ2 but some may remember me :) Perhaps HEL or FLY clans still ring some bells ;)

Anyhow, I was thinking I might try and get hold of a copy of the game as I have no idea where the install CDs are, does anyone know where I can get a copy these days?

Also whats the best way to play online now and is there a popular day / time to find people?

Well here is hoping I might get a chance to jump back many years and play an old favourite!

The only legal way to get BZ2 is to buy a disc. Amazon or eBay are some of the better sources to match sellers to buyers.

You can also upvote Battlezone 1/2 on the Gog.com wishlist to help them prioritize BZ1/2 in their negotiations or work.

Really no offense intended, but that comment made me LOL. :)
Google your behind off, I know a Dutch store that even has a few still sealed copies in store, but you'll pay about €50-60,- for them.

GameRanger is what I used for a little while, we use a different service now... GameSpy was apparently bought out or something and they shut down our servers... or something..

I'd be surprised that anyone at all uses gameranger at this point in time. The RAKNet 6.3 b and higher releases have been reasonably stable as well as having working in-game matchmaking. The strat community is still for the most part on the 1.3.6.2 patch and still arranging games on TS (hopefully that will change as 6.3d release seems to have solved some stability issues)

6.3d has been very stable in my (albeit limited) experience. Played a few games, was able to see games, no sync issues thus far.
