~ cannot join any game ( 1.3.6.4 W)

1: i did a FRESH CLEAN install of Battlezone 2 (NO MODS, NO NOTHING)

2: i applied the latest Public Beta patch from here (http://matesfamily.org/bz2/)

3: i also installed 1.3.6.4 w (i extracted the entire contents of the ZIP file to the game directory)

4: i launch the game and tried to join matesfamily sever but was told that my patch is not up to date

5: i tried to join a few other servers but couldnot join as well

what am i doing wrong?

On the top of my head I would think Internet proxies or ports are being stupid again, but I seriously doubt that is the case (I believe it was fixed, and it only affected hosting games).

What message did you get upon attempting to join also?

you can't join the mates family server because it's just a session advertising the latest patch and uses no map.

if other sessions are red, it's because they are not using the patch you are using.


try hosting and see if someone joins.

Please read the nettips.rtf file included with the Battlezone II patch - same folder as where you installed 1.3.6.4 into. To summarize:

- You can never join a game in red. BZ2 -- since 1.0 -- has only allowed people to join games running the exact same patch.
- The advertising session is not a real game, there are no players in it. Can never join, as it's in red. It's not a real game, either.
- See the blinking 'create game' button? It's calling your name. Press it. Be patient, as BZ2 is a smaller game and not everyone plays at the same time. Or some people may choose to filter out games not matching their preferred mode(s).
