Your Favorite ISDF Unit
YOU ARE THE COMMANDER
every commander has a favorite unit, and every bz2 player is a commander. so what is YOUR (the commander) FAVORITE ISDF UNIT?

Mortar Bike. Heck yeah.
Re: Your Favorite ISDF Unit
Which game stage are we talking about?
Re: Your Favorite ISDF Unit
Missile scouts for their versatility and efficiency.
Re: Your Favorite ISDF Unit
My favorite type wasn't listed, but I really love the air types the best. There aren't enough of them for my preferences. PS: I made an air DM map one time with two aircaft of my own design and a ton of pickups scattered around the DUNE map that I used. Hover types suck because you can't get at the power ups at all unless you jump out of your ship over them just right. Aircraft types can also be very hard to manuver as well.

The stage in between the start of the game and the loss of 1 recycler.AHadley wrote:Which game stage are we talking about?

I voted for tanks, nothing can outdo them when driven by a good commander/pilot.
Scouts may be too agle to shoot with stabbers, but you wont even see me hit you when I have lazorzz or blast. (MDM) Mortars allow me to shell something, just casually on the side, while I nuke your scavs.
Walkers you just creep behind, A-atanks cant hit you (when they do come with blast you still have mortars, when they have mortars .. they tend not use the main-weapon), R-tanks can be dealt with if you move fast and aim well (or you just mortar them).
M-scout/M-bikes? Zap .. you said?

(An other good commander will for instance not easilly let you get behind him if he is in a walker, but generally speaking, 1vs1, the tank rules all.)
Re: Your Favorite ISDF Unit
MAG walker completely changes the game. wastes pools in one shot and just has its way with anything else.
Re: Your Favorite ISDF Unit
As long as a sabre can get behind you with enough ammo to kill you, you can carry any weapon you want ...

I just love the walker (not in 1.2) My favourite way to finish a strat, Plasma/pummel loadout, with some RT backup of course. What other unit can destroy a whole base without even needing to reload ammo.

I went for Missile scouts. In the hands of a good pilot, they can outruna tank and still do some pretty destructive damage. Great for taking out structures and most any craft, and they just look so cool.

Rocket Tank: They're pretty much a godsend against Scion with Blink and pesky Bombers.

Mortar bikes. Cheap to produce and can do a significant amount of damage to a base.
Assault tanks come a close second, ever since I started using the strategy which never makes gun towers, instead placing assault tanks at key locations.

A Sabre in the hands of a good player can win against anything 1v1, no questions asked.
