Squirrel is right, give the community a way to pull together. Don't focus on negative stuff.
Since we can't all meet up at Red Lobster, why not everyone buy some beers and meet on Skype. Community meeting.
I can't speak from experience because I'm not a modder, but seems to me when you are too close to something you stand back and re-evaluate. Some of the modders who constantly work only on mods might try to join us all in some games. Might take the edge off.
