Welcome to the Battlezone 2 Discussion Forums

Postby GSH » Fri Feb 18, 2011 6:06 pm

Welcome to the new Battlezone forums. Please note - warez (pirated software, especially Battlezone-related) spam, off topic, etc is not allowed. Please behave yourself. There are a million other places to post on the internet if you can't handle things here.

These boards are being set up on my own dime, on my own time. Please do not abuse them. As above, if you don't like things, may I suggest going elsewhere?

Thanks for setting up a forum for BZII. I kind of miss the old BZU forum. PS: There are free forum sites available if the cost becomes an issue.

Yes, but a few of us actually pay for domains and as one who does that that bugs me.

They are quite nice if you want to set something up but dont intend to play owner of it.
(eg: At some previous employer 2 others and myself set up a forum for people working there to share and learn things important for the job, things that were lost all the time when people left. I no longer even have a useraccount there, but the forum, what I last heard, is still being used today.)

They really are. They're also useful for linking to other sites and forums and basically serve as bounce points to help people find what their searching for of personal interest. As I recall, I originally found many of the BZ forums by links posted on other forums.

Some of you may or may not remember GSH mentioning a game hosting site called GOG.com, and that I said I had written them an e-mail about maybe talking to Atari about getting BZ2 on their website. They wrote me back:

Hello,

I apologize for the late reply. I'm afraid I can't comment on whether
or not we'll be releasing certain titles, or whether or not we're
discussing it with publishers. :( I can only assure you that we're
doing everything possible to get our hands on the best good old games.
Please stay tuned and check out our news page every week for new
release info.

Regards,
Peter

That looks like a packaged response.

Hi, great to see BZ still around. Used to play this game all the time with my brothers many moons ago, had a lot of laughs.
Would like to get this game up and running again, with my brothers and my nephews, show them what a real computer game is.
I see your trying to get it on GOG, but it isn't available yet, is there anywhere I can get the game from like GOG?

Many thanks for your time and efforts on the project, great work. 8-)

Good luck.

Right now, the best places to get BZ2 legally are Amazon.com, ebay.com, or the like.

I understand there is a restriction on sending PMs till you become more active, but how many posts do I have to make before I can reply? GeneralBLackDragon is waiting for a response from me that I can not give him.
