My Visual C++ 2008 is asking for a registration key.

Now I'm in the middle of making my missions for my mod, and my Visual C++ 2008 is asking for a registration key. Unfortunately, the site that is required to register my product is dead. I can't find any working links at all. Any ideas? I refuse to resort back to the DLL scriptor.

i just had to reinstall mine after a hdd crash and was able to register it, but i forget how.

You sure you are downloading the correct version? Visual Studios Express.

You shouldn't need to be using outdated versions of Visual Studio for BZ modding; Express 2013 should work just fine.

Then end users of his mod would have to download and install the VS 2013 redistributable.

This appears to be the only current solution, until Microsoft fixes their website. Or they've discontinued VS 2008 and earned more points towards their inevitable name change to Microshit.

They can't maintain it for ever, GBD; it was the same with XP. No developer can maintain its back catalogue for ever, and VS08 is eight years old now.
