If it gets recognized as a normal joystick, yes, however you will be missing a great many needed keys.

and that is why I have a keyboard attachment to my controller

Ok, first see about getting the thing entirely interfaced with the PC. Once you get that far we can help you. Doing that is more the domain of an XBox community. :-/
I would hope you can get it registered as a joystick and keyboard.
