BZ2Maps

Post by Ded10c »

... would seem to be down at the moment. Apparently the domain has expired, and whilst it's still held to the last registered owner (OPP), that won't last for long.

Let's hope we don't have to brace ourselves for another site going down, but if it does, at least we have advance warning.

Considering all the friction it seems to have caused in the past maybe we should all pray that it stays down? What do you guys think?

Imagine if BZ2Maps was the Football club and got shut down, and the only place the jocks could go to hang out was the Chess club (or maybe more aptly the Flag Football Club). There would be friction nonetheless. There will always be friction if the conditions for such a thing exist.

Not seen Opp in (1.3) games for a long time. I don't know it they're still active or not.
I don't think it staying down would be at all helpful, it was a very useful resource for getting Bz2 maps. Just one unfortunately frequented by enough retards to make reading the forums an unpleasant experience.

The trouble there is mostly caused by a small group of people with no power over the site, so I can't see anything wrong with the site itself; its management seems sound. It's those certain users who are the problem.

That is because a certain main problem member removed anything that looked bad for them.

Not quite expired. Don't know what's going on. Don't have any contact with Opp anymore. Juggernaut is the sysadmin. I'll contact him and see what's going on.

Try logging in? Cookies are not transferred cross-domain for that configuration.

My hair may be of a lighter color but I did realise that AHab ;)
I just log in and stay logged in, but after several months cant seem to remember the correct password for the site/account. Requisting a new one generates a new password but it requires activation via the original domain.
