Without the assets, that MOD isn't any help, I changed what I could, but he added a ton of stuff for the look he got. I was hoping someone would see this thread and maybe remember where that guide is or even have it, it told you what to change and what to change it to. It wasn't nearly as spectacular as SRV, but still looked way better than the standard nuke explosion.

First off, thank you very much for looking for that guide. I read it and it is not the one I had, but there is some really useful info in there!! = )

Pretty sure the Day Wrecker .odf guide was not on this site, this is the first time I have been here. Maybe it was on BZ Uninverse. Anyway, I will keep looking, ty again for all the help! :)

Go study ODF Renders.

Look at any and all Explosion odfs you can find. Look at how they did things. Study, learn, and experiment on your own.

But don't experiment too hard or you will end up with something like this.

Unless one of them say "this is how you make the mushroom cloud for the Day Wrecker," it's not gonna happen. I want my guide!!! :(

That is genuinely the best way to learn. That's how we all learned.

How to make a Nuke by Zero Angel

1) Get Pak Explorer and a good Text Editor
2) Study explosion files and other effects (ie: collapse.odf)
3) Research and experiment in the editor
4) Nuke
5) Now you can do other weapons and explosion effects using the knowledge you gained by learning it yourself

See how good I am at writing tutorials? God i'm good.

Is the "Day Wrecker" .odf file for Instant Action in the data.pak and the .odf for multiplayer in the patch13.pak?

When an ODF occurs in both patch13 and data, patch13 takes precedence.

patch13.pak has the more updated, newer versions of the files. Look in it first. If it's not in there, then the 1.3 patch hasn't made any changes to it, so it's still in data.pak.

Ok.... I use the pak explorer (pakex) and navigate to my patch13.pak. I then go to effects>explostions, and export the xbmbxpl.odf (Day Wrecker) file to my desktop. I make lots of changes, save the file, reopen pakex and delete the original xbmbxpl.odf that is still in patch13.pak and import my changed file, then save the .pak. I run bzedit, type in apwrck and hit enter, type a height of 50 and hit enter, then escape key and resume. The explosion looks exactly like it did b4 editing, what am I doing wrong?
