Hey GBD, if you have an spare time I'd like to talk to you about the CP2, I know you did help me with some weapons a while ago, your input would be valued in further continuation of your work, once we have the core assets completed we will be able to consider "opening" up the doors with the CP, making betas, etc.

Yeah, I can help do some DLL coding, weapons, assets, whatever. Only thing I'm not good at is models and textures.

GBD have you considered tweaking LIFT_SPRING and LIFT_DAMP to bring BZC unit physics closer to BZ1 craft physics?
Also, having never played BZ1 and thus having no nostalgia for it -- I think the explosion/hit effects look pretty crappy. Surely there has got to be a way to 'remaster' the effects without changing them in any radical sort of way.

From what I can tell they look identical to BZ1, which was the intention.

I was a bit disappointed though when I loaded 2 flash cannons onto my scout, discovered it still ran out of ammo in .7 seconds without even dealing enough damage to kill another scout. Just like the original.

It is based off of 1.4, which broke more things than it fixed. With 1.5 being developed ...there is now a moving point of contention.

The flash cannon is a bit of a questionable area.
The current version in BZC does equal damage over time as Blast Cannon does. (400 damage a second)
BZ1.5 just experimented with making it take less ammo and doing 600 damage a second, which I feel is a bit over powered...
But, of all the weapon balance in BZC, the Flash Cannon is the one that is most open to debate.

From a strat perspective, I would say that if a weapon cannot destroy a ship equivalent to the one its loaded on, then it might as well not be there.

Yes, very simple, if it cannot kill nobody will use it. Its great in guntowers though. 
I ought to point out that the only other version of bz1 I have played is the one on the disk, a long time ago.

The range is so poor of the 1.5 flash cannon that to load it on a guntower would be suicidal. It would never fire back against bombers or SP.
