Oooo,

I told this to BBB too, I don't like the idea of infringing on player's option choices. At least fetch the previous value, and set it back to what it was when you go back to "on". That way, if they have turned lights off, your DLL won't force them back on.

It's a shame headlights don't provide a tactical advantage, as opposed to being purely cosmetic.

could give the lights a dual purpose, like concentrated heat, when they are on. Objects that are heated from it help certain missiles to not miss their target. The heat could also kill pilots.

What about a "spotlight" effect that blinds enemy units, such that they have more trouble aiming with your headlights shining in your eyes. :P

heh; i ran into that in another game where they have optional tactical lights on guns; still can't see straight.

added some missing and fixed some lighting settings, so, hopefully, it should look better in the future.

Too bad we can not 'properly' program the AI to actually notice your headlights. Making them spot you from a greater distance and possibly allowing them to attack with prejudice. (Or the other way around, decreasing engagerange, possibly allowing it to break from the attack routine.)
