just finished playing an IA Sea Battle using your mod. I hadn't fully looked at all the units yet, so I was able to see them this time, and it was gorgeous.

I can't believe all the cool animations you added to the buildings, It really makes BZ2 come alive - literally.

Guys, if you haven't tried Coxxon's mod, I strongly encourage you to do so. This with 1.3.7.0 are probably the closest thing to a BZ3 you're going to see.

Coxxon, I also love your mod! One minor issue though, is when playing in 1st person view without the cockpit enabled, the shots appear a couple meters in front of the ship, appearing as though they are coming out of nowhere (stock BZ2 shows the shots coming from the bottom of screen as though your were viewing from the nose of the ship with cockpit view disabled). Just a minor annoyance, just wanted to mention. Thanks for doing this!

Lol. One thing that surprised me while doing the upscaled textures was that I didn't even know what the cockpit texture looked like. :o I have never played with cockpit on. If someone with the capability and a love of the cockpit would like to offer me an upscaled and improved version, I would be happy to include it in my high res texture project. I do not feel qualified to tamper with something others may love and I simply don't look at.

On the weapon issue, this should likely depend on what vehicle one is using. Most weapons are in the player's los, some more than others, even in stock. In my mod the Scout and Sabre miniguns are especially in the player's los b/c I moved where they fire from. Unfortunately from the way the vehicles are designed, it's just not possible to move all muzzle flashes out of the player's los when the cockpit is turned off - without doing even weirder things to the models.

It seems there's definitely a divide out there between cockpit and non-cockpit users. I've always been in the former, though I was never happy how neither BZI or BZII's cockpits really fitted the vehicles, which is why I worked so hard to fix that in Battlezone II Remodeled.

BTW, if you want to upscale them, the stock textures for the cockpits are: ivcock00.pic and fvcock00.pic

I love the cockpits, but not in competitive strats as it can block your FOV somewhat. Cockpits look especially nice playing in 3D (using Tridef w/ a 27" passive 3D monitor).

Yes I know. But it's more a case of total recreation rather than upscaling.
Some people may be under the mistaken belief that this is a private project of mine. It isn't, I'm just the only person involved actually doing it.
I guess I am approaching the "final 90%" point....
