I took a look at MPIDunes66.bzn and noticed the following.
The base pools are a member of the group ScrPool4* (ScrPool4a, ScrPool4b, and ScrPool4c). This is why the player always got one base pool, when randomization was on. I believe it always cycled between 4a and 4b, as I don't believe I had ever seen 4c used.
I would recommend an option that randomizes the pools in this way, based on group name, then add an option that uses the current randomization (maybe labeled more randomized).
