Struggling to play with a friend. (Forgotten Enemies and UEP Help Required)

I finally got my friend to play Battlezone. After years of grinding, he finally said yes. I put multiple installs of Battlezone on his computer. I decided it would be fun to start off with UEP and FE. However.........
Unofficial Expansion Pack for some reason can not detect its own maps. For example, it claims that the lobby for UEP is an unknown map. We are both running the patch 1.3.6.5. I know for a fact that I have simply installed it wrong, or perhaps it's our operating systems. He is running Battlezone on Windows 10, while I am running Battlezone on Windows 8. I have never heard of someone running Battlezone on Windows 10. It works and runs fine for him, until we hit multiplayer. Please let me know if there's anything else that I need to do to make multiplayer work on Windows 10. It works just fine for me on my current set-up on Windows 8.
For Forgotten Enemies, we get a natnegotiation error. I have seen these errors before, but never have known what they meant. I would love to know how to fix this natnegotiation error, as well as fixing the map-error for UEP.
Thanks, JAMALLLL (I no longer go by Player, as other players claimed that people use this I.D. when they grief.)

P.S. I have also turned off all firewalls.

UEP is not officially supported in newer patches. I think 1.3.6.2 was the last.

The other error is not mod related. The host has ports blocked either on his router or in his firewall on the computer.
If you click create game there will be a dialog box. At the bottom it should say: UPNP successfully redirected.
If it doesn't your router might not support it and you need to forward port 17770 UDP to your computer IP on the LAN.

I know that UEP is not officially supported on 1.3.6.5., but I have got it to work before in the past. Now it suddenly doesn't. Are you sure that I'm hallucinating?

If you cannot see the map, then most likely you don't have UEP active. Did you start with the provided shortcut?

The UEP is not officially supported at all.

Yeah, I just meant that it would run best if installed on the patch version it was released on.

School's my excuse for a late response. In the time between me posting this thread and now, I have tried UEP (Yes, with the shortcut) again on 1.3.6.5, and on 1.3.6.2, but neither worked. F.E. still just gives us a NAT negotiation error. Once again, he's on Windows 10, and I'm on Windows 8. I'll try any (reasonable) attempt at fixing this problem. Please help, he's giving up on Battlezone :(.

use the latest 1.3 patch: 1.3.7.1 b131ax

older patches use Gamespy, then RakNet; latest one use GSH's matchmaking and NatNeg server.

The best patch to use for the UEP is 1.3.5.1. The best patch to use for FE is whichever one Red Devil tells you to use for it.

Wow! I haven't responded in a while. I have figured out that the only error separating us is the nat negotiation error. Mase said: At the bottom it should say: UPNP successfully redirected. It says UPNP redirection failure. How would I fix this?

google port forwarding, login to your router's admin control panel, forward ports 17770 - 17772 for BZ2 to use?

There is no one issue that causes the UPnP failure. It could be caused by one of the following.

* Firewall installed on the host machine
* Router not supporting UPnP
* Ports not being forwarded, if UPnP isn't supported
* Windows firewall blocking bz2

Those are just some of the more common causes, there are most likely many more.

Without knowing your particular setup, we can only guess as to what is causing your issue.

I managed to port forward, but it still doesn't work (My router does support UPnP.) All AVs are off, and so is Windows' Firewall. I'm now running VSR on 1.3.6.5 (VSR 5.0). It used to work fine, but now it magically isn't working. Is my computer possessed by an anti-Battlezone genie?
My router model is WGR614v10. I can provide other specs if necessary.

u can try setting the pc to DMZ mode in your router, that disables the entire router firewall, which would make all hosting in any video game work, but it does disable that firewall, so I wouldn't visit any suspicious sites without some kind of additional protection. (I use Firefox/Google Chrome with NoScript / ScriptBlock addons which make browsing safer.)
