If you have an NVIDIA card, I've read a driver update will allow you to record video without third party software. Will be interested in seeing where that goes.

I have an 8600GT and have never heard about that, interesting enough to find out though. Thanks for the heads up

You need the higher end of the 600 (I think) series GTX for that. I have a GTX570HD which I will be holding onto for a while until my next graphics upgrade. Note, 8000GT series is a good bit less than a 600GTX series. My old PC had an 8600GT though, good card.

And yes, it is. I got the one with its own fan, OC'ed it slightly and it works like a charm, even during the hottest summer days. My CPU is clearly the bottleneck in this system
