BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
Download this and unpack over your existing 1.3.6.4 install's exe. This is a quick patch that re-enables construction rig upgrades and other tweaks
If you can, please install and test this. I think that this build is about 99.9% of what I want to put into a 1.3.6.5 release. Your best chance of having bugs fixed for 1.3.6.5 is to report things on the 1.3.6.4 series. Logfiles -- battlezone.log and chatlog (if enabled) -- are useful. Otherwise, reporting things in a way that makes them happen here is best.
See the changelog for the fuller descriptions of what's changed. Since 1.3.6.4n:
- Construction rigs can upgrade once again
- Much work to make griefers less able to annoy people
- Anyone can now ban anyone at any time - if you're a client in a game, you can ban a host or another client. Anyone you've banned who's hosting a game won't show up on the list of servers. Anyone you've previously banned who is a client in a game you joined is now warned about
- CUT the 1.2-style physics craft variants. The 1.3 patch series does not encourage that monoculture of overpowered scouts. Learn to explore the tech tree.
- Tweaked session registration and browsing to hopefully work around antivirus with overactive web shields better
- Chroming of objects is now SSE-powered for greater performance
- Tracked vehicle physics ought to be more solid. BZ2's collision code is still garbage, though
- On players leaving in a teamplay game, their units are redistributed to remaining players to avoid orphanage
- Upscaled shell fonts to look less klunky at large resolutions - note that this will require mods with custom extra options pages to also be upscaled
- Ingame UI can be upscaled by a preference - see graphics options, page 2, bottom right
- Input smoothing option from Ken, also pathing system tweaks and particle render from him.
- MP escape screen chat should scroll better
- Fix for input getting stuck at edges of range
- Crash logs aren't overwritten next boot, up to 10 crash logfiles and 5 regular logfiles are kept

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
Hi, I have created the Ai (It is average with no scarp cheat). How can I give it to you to implement it in the official pack?
Ma man, bugs:
In bunker mode (satelite view) I put factory's drop zone somewere and all bugs-up. When I click factory, it selects the armory, when I click the armory (from top menu 1-2-etc) it selects f1 unit group.

Building aips for everyone.
Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
I've been slowly compiling a whitelist, for those interested. This is based on players I run into in-game.

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
I'm feeling a bit thick atm, what makes it a white list?
The Silence continues. The War Of Lies has no end.
Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
I've whitelisted the players' ISPs as opposed to the individual IPs. Some may have static IPs but several have dynamic IPs which is why I whitelisted the ISPs.

Re: BZ2 1.3.6.4z6 - Open beta & testing
Thanks for the update GSH. Best Yet.
I had a chance to play quite a few 5v5 strats. Much more stable and smoooth than before, even with low pingers, quits, rejoins etc.
Some issues I notice:
(1)Pitch (mouse Y): seems to be double the sensitivity of Steer (mouse X) and has acceleration. I partially correct by setting my Pitch to 50% and steer I leave at default 100%
My adjustments help, BUT it still does not get over the mouse acceleration issue (with pitch only - steer is fine). This started happening a couple updates ago. it's very hard to aim in game while in dogfight. Quicker mouse response would be great as well. Although I know it's easier said than fixed.
(2)The text of the in game HUD chat window is still blurry for me, depending on the background texture displaying through the back (player list just above is not affected). The red and green font variably blur by different in game background textures. Something to do with the opacity settings mking the background blur into the text (very blurry - illegible), unless i move the view to a different location (like a mountain, hill etc). The green text, I often have to view the sky to be able to read (yet the red text will switch to blurry).
(3)Playerlist on hud (just above chat) only displays 7 players max. I noticed during several 5v5 strats.
ZA (ZeroAngel) created a solution a couple years ago for this issue which works fine, but have not tried it on the latest z6 as of yet.
ZA's 10-Player Playerlist Fix "Save or copy the file: bzgame_stats.cfg into your [Battlezone 2/Addon] folder"
EDIT:
(4) I had a BZ2 crash a while back that was not BZ2 related (Some weird issue I had to resolve with my Asus xonar DGX sound card (was causing occasional game crashes (any intensive game) and sound loops). Ever since, I keep getting the new notification to Click OK or Report Crash and cannot get it to go away (unless I delete the log file I presume) See screenshot below:

Request:
Could the option to be able to change server message or name be reintroduced (shell and in game)?

(4) I had a BZ2 crash a while back that was not BZ2 related (Some weird issue I had to resolve with my Asus xonar DGX sound card (was causing occasional game crashes (any intensive game) and sound loops). Ever since, I keep getting the new notification to Click OK or Report Crash and cannot get it to go away (unless I delete the log file I presume) See screenshot below:

Request:
Could the option to be able to change server message or name be reintroduced (shell and in game)?

that av above, was that in IA? if so, check that it's using underscores in the options_string varbs in the .inf file instead of periods.
