We don't discuss testing/development much outside the test group, due to the hostile attitudes of some people. Giving them food so they can turn it into dung to throw back at us, is just not a good way to do things.

I am not understanding WHY there are bugs which allready were fixed in PB5.1.

This warp problem is not in 1.2 or 5.1 ...

You should consider putting in a private beta bid. New testers are always welcome, and you aren't working with outdated information. Plus, uber cool secretz

Lol! warp in 1.2 just made everyone else think you were 50 meters away from where you actually where! making it almost impossible to shoot some people. This is an just annoying and slightly ugly lack of smoothness, allot of code has been changed since 1.2 and 5.1, there is no simple technique to "make it perfect" except by rigorous testing, precise problem reporting and some smart coding by GSH.
We do really appreciate input from player like yourself, but there will always be some issues, like this one, that will slip through testing and we do often rely on players of the Beta to tell us about them. Preferably in a nice way :)

Sometimes fixes for one issue will introduce other issues elsewhere in the code. This is perhaps one such example. We know about it.

I am kinda pitying Cyber here. Some people in this thread are attacking him when he is giving insight on the patches, which has always been allowed and encouraged, even on BZU. Cyber plays actively and even though he is not on the team, that doesn't mean his comments are a waste of time. Every player has the equal right to post issues with patches and have them looked into.

Sometimes in beta testing a lot of things can be missed. Once introduced to the majority of the gaming population, those missing bugs are easily exposed, which is why game developers listen and allow feedback from gamers. All actual game designing companies do this. For Cyber to give his team, and report something and ask about it, and then for someone to shoot him up about it is ridiculous.

Think before you type...

Nobody was attacking him, we could have told him allot more, but we have rules for good reason. He probably does not know that and found our unclear statements annoying.

Of course not.

I was actually thinking that I could get help here. Cause I am also trying to help other people with bz2-problems.

But well, there is no point to discuss anymore when you cant help me.

When I read this topic Cyber comes off as *very* hostile, hence why he got the response he did.
First of all, 1.3pb5.1 had issues.
Second, we tried to fix those issues.
Third, new issues arose.

It isn't rocket science and it certainly isn't something to try to yell at us about. You report and issue and that is it. Cyber's post comes off as a bitch tirade simply because he didn't like what 2sheds said. 2sheds is right, there is nothing more Cyber can do on the subject. If one reads 2shed's post, he says it is a known PB6 issue. The type of response he got was entirely unwarranted. As this is a well known engine bug there is really nothing more anyone outside of the private beta team can do for it simply because nothing but code changes can fix it, and no-one can test those other than the private testers.

So maybe you *all* should "Think before you type...".

Cyber, you were not attacked. DW, Cyber was not attacked. He was told not to put too much effort into said bug simply because it was well known, in progress, and he could do nothing of value for it in his present position. He was *NOT* told it was unimportant or trivial or a non-issue.

I never felt to be attacked by someone. I always think about the post before I write it.

Also, I am not hostile. Its just totally annoying to get response like "Dont waste your time..."-2shads / "And we all know that there are rules we MUST follow at all times"-zax.

It just would be enough to say: " Known Bug. Sorry, but no chance to change it atm"

So pls, don't make a battle between modders and players. The topic served it's purpose, more or less.

Zax was referring to how limited our speech is as testers. We can't just go around saying "we're doing this for the next patch".
