mts, i'm thinking the end is not a texture, but part of the movie/cinematic.

thinking maybe the white tank is the same thing as the grass problem or maybe some bleed-through.

We do have access to the individual frames of most of the bik movies - not sure if they're in higher quality than those distributed with the game or not, but they're worth a look just in case.

A very still movie...
And of course after sleeping on it I realize that the White Tank is simply a restless spectre brought forth by my careless flinging of files into addon. An orphaned A0 summoned from the spooky fileless Material Compilation Zone! So this foolish Shed dweller can stop his cross waiving and flicking of holy water at his screen, put away his Mallet and Stakes. All that is required is an exorcism, to perform the holy ritual of ReinstallBz2PuttingAllYourFilesInPlaceBeforeRunningItForTheFirstTime! and all will be well. :lol:

They're not. BZ2's Bink player can't play higher quality movies, so even if we tried to make one of higher quality, BZ2 couldn't play it.

They're not. BZ2's Bink player can't play higher quality movies, so even if we tried to make one of higher quality, BZ2 couldn't play it.
You sure about that? I upgraded the bink player around the 1.3.5* line. I thought I tested it with Pandemic's updated intro movie, seen on Mercs2/Saboteur.

Oh, neat. I didn't know that. I remember somebody saying somewhere, sometime, that BZ2's bink player was limited.


I wonder how to make higher res bink movies...

sorry, this is getting a little off-topic, but i can't play the isdf_dn.bik and most of the other .bik files using the current bink via rad tools.

I am still being haunted by intermittent ghostly glowing white tanks on a different install. This must be to do with either adding a glow to an existing non glowing material or it's something to do with dxt alpha channels. The main 00 texture is not rendered, neither is the c0, when it happens, both work fine when it does not happen.
I have nothing to view dxt mip maps with other than bz2.
It happens with and without team colors (which do not get applied to the white tank)
There may be a pattern to the intermittency but I have not figured out what it is yet.
