Assault Bay

Hi there,

I played this game years ago and today i installed it again but with 2 1.3 beta patch.
I always loved this game.
So i have a question.
What is the assault bay? It seems i cannot find it and... Where can i find this building?
Cause i cannot recall it from earlier.
It's not in the builder's menu.

Is this a new feature? Cause i want that heavy walker and the special units..

Or do i overlook something here?

I hope you know what i mean..

CRig = Construction Rig AKA Constructor. Assault Bay (besides unlocking tech) refills the ammo on some units that have limited ammo reserves that cannot be restored by regular servicing.

The Assault Bay is only used in some recycler variants, if you play a normal game it won't be there.

Yeah aah so cause of the cheats it does not work :-p
And if you play a instant gane it should be there?

If you play an instant game using the right recycler variant. Greenheart has it, possibly Commando.

Next time you play IA or host a MPI game, press the extra options or map options button. In there, look for the recycler variant list -- which might be on page 2 or 3 of the map options. Recycler variants are the official way to select different game tech trees and other gameplay variants.

Both do, but I am not sure if all the Commando flavours have it, some do though.

Yeah, i found it in greenheart with thug commanders.. It's the second construction bot, but assault bay is not the right name.. It's assault "something".
Also i don't know what all the variant's mean, so that's a little confusing..
But it's great that now, i can build a fortress with them walls and all. Together with the cheats it's the ultimate base..
But What i like to see is that the ai gets much smarter and that i can make more units and a few more maps and i wish the multiplayer worked..
Lol i'm not asking, i'm dreaming..
I can build a fortress with a few attacks on me. And without shooting myself i can smash the enemy within the hour Lol

Multiplayer should work if you use the public Openspy test build, it's on the other board (no time to go look atm).

The Greenheart variant, though, is designed for IA/MPI only. If you want to play Strategy (against other players, I'd highly recommend it even though I don't play it myself) you'll probably end up using something else. VSR is the current standard.

I don't understand what IA/MPI is and i don't know what VSR is..
But if you play as scion there's half less of units and buildings, why is that?

Ooh i saw on another site where i got the patch from that multiplayer server is down....?
Where can i find a list or something with what all game variant's are in and what is in there to play with orso??

Instant Action is what you're playing, MPI is the same thing with other players. VSR is a strategy variant made for improved strategy play.
Scions have a different build tree. It's as simple as that.

The Gamespy multiplayer server is down, but the 1.3 patch developer is working on a new system. The public build is a test of such a system.
I don't think there is a variant that contains *everything*. Such a variant would be highly unbalanced anyway, as the AI wouldn't be able to use it.

Recycler variants are a new system in 1.3 that allow you to select a non-default starting recycler (with different tech trees, different buildable units, etc). The Greenheart and Commando Variant C (for example) allow you to build heavy sabres, assault towers, rocket towers, etc. Some like the Wug variant contain smaller modifications like the ability to build 30 scrap empty tanks and such. VSR is the 'vet strat recycler' variant that has several balance changes, introduces the hadean and ice cream playable races and attempts to simulate classic BZ2 physics (1.2 - 1.0). 1.3 comes with a lot of rec variants installed by default but VSR must be downloaded and installed seperately. If you most play the MPI game modes then the recycler variants included in 1.3 will suffice. If you want to play strat games then you will want VSR as the strat playing community plays VSR game modes exclusively.
