1.3.6.4y - OPEN BETA & TESTING
Download this and unpack over your existing 1.3.6.4 install's exe. This is a quick patch that re-enables construction rig upgrades and other tweaks
If you can, please install and test this. I think that this build is about 99.9% of what I want to put into a 1.3.6.5 release. Your best chance of having bugs fixed for 1.3.6.5 is to report things on the 1.3.6.4 series. Logfiles -- battlezone.log and chatlog (if enabled) -- are useful. Otherwise, reporting things in a way that makes them happen here is best.
See the changelog for the fuller descriptions of what's changed. Since 1.3.6.4n:
- Construction rigs can upgrade once again
- Much work to make griefers less able to annoy people
- Anyone can now ban anyone at any time - if you're a client in a game, you can ban a host or another client. Anyone you've banned who's hosting a game won't show up on the list of servers. Anyone you've previously banned who is a client in a game you joined is now warned about
- CUT the 1.2-style physics craft variants. The 1.3 patch series does not encourage that monoculture of overpowered scouts. Learn to explore the tech tree.
- Tweaked session registration and browsing to hopefully work around antivirus with overactive web shields better
- Chroming of objects is now SSE-powered for greater performance
- Tracked vehicle physics ought to be more solid. BZ2's collision code is still garbage, though
- On players leaving in a teamplay game, their units are redistributed to remaining players to avoid orphanage
- Upscaled shell fonts to look less klunky at large resolutions - note that this will require mods with custom extra options pages to also be upscaled
- Ingame UI can be upscaled by a preference - see graphics options, page 2, bottom right
- Input smoothing option from Ken, also pathing system tweaks and particle render from him.
- MP escape screen chat should scroll better
- Fix for input getting stuck at edges of range

Sly is banned from this patch for the reason "DDOS'd games." This never happened, nor is there evidence for it happening. Sly is an integral member of the vet community and should not be automatically banned from every game. At least have the file automatically // the line out.

Sly is fond of trolling, but trolling is not even on the same level as DoSing, its not even close -- I don't think that mere trolling, warrants an autoban from 1.3 given the new anti-griefer measures and ability to set bans in games hosted by other people.

I can see its going to be very difficult indeed finding anyone at all with an impartial position on this little issue.

Is the difference between y and w only bug fixing or is there a functionality/feature change?
Also the newly released ZTV and FE config files for w also work with y? Or is another update needed here?

Played a few last night, myself and Commando notice these 2 bugs:
1) - chat window bug, where colored text (green or blue) will often blur beyond legibility when the sky is the backdrop, and red text will blur when the ground is a back drop and only visible when sky is. Some maps not so bad, QUARRY is a map where this problem can be duplicated easily. The multi-colored player list just above it does not appear to have this problem, nor is white text affected (seems clear regardless of backdrop). I believe it has something to do with the opacity settings bleeding through into the text of the message window. I'm running BZ2 with highest settings, this problem started with the last patch (6.4w).
2) - vertical pitch seems to be almost double than that of the horizontal. I have to dumb down my vertical settings by 40% to get it to match my horizontal movements. This is an issue I have noticed since 6.4. (e.g. up and down pitch acceleration in scout is double than left and right movements). This greatly affects my ability to aim.

Played a game on 6.4y, noticed no big problems except for some strangeness with movement after a while of having control smoothing on. Might be just my mouse being flaky, will have to analyze it more next time it happens.
Also, lagged out on same game. Stock 1.3, no mods. Mightve just been my net connection taking a big dump as it tends to do. Log if interested

As to Sly having to finally pay the price for all his misdeeds-- he's well overdrawn at the bank of karma and it's sad to see a community standing up for the slime therein -- the only change I might consider is this: no bans (banlist, proxylist, userbanlist) work whatsoever in strat games, while DM/MPI those three files work. That'd be fair, given how much the DM/MPI communities have suffered.
