Use of XBOX 360 Controller
I hooked up an XBOX 360 controller to try it out with BZ 1.5 on my desktop PC and I keep getting an error when I try to launch a game. The error is
"The input channel "USlider" on device "Joystick1" does not exist. If you have changed your joystick configuration, you should also reconfigure your controls in the shell. Push "OK" to disable this control and continue, or push CANCEL to abort the mission."
Anyone got any idea what I need to do to make it work? I tried the controller on my laptop and it works fine, no error message. Both PCs are Win 7, 64 bit machines.

Did you get that error when using the Xbox 360 controller configuration?
Is your controller assigned to the first controller slot, with the green light in the upper-left quadrant?

Yes, I have the XBOX 360 controller selected in the joystick section. The green light is in the upper left quadrant. I don't know what you mean by "first controller slot".
I also have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick connected, as well as an old Microsoft Strategic Commander hooked to the machine I'm having problems with. I've disconnected both of these controllers, still have the problem. I rebooted with these other two controllers disconnected, still have the problem.

OK. I was just trying to eliminate a few possibilities.
I'll try with my 360 controller once I get home.

I suspect that it's something peculiar with my desktop setup, as the 360 works fine with my laptop and both are 64 bit Win 7 machines (ultimate on desktop and premium on laptop).

Re: Use of XBOX 360 Controller
FYI, I seem to have figured out how to fix the Xbox 360 controller issue I was having. It appears that the controller wasn't being assigned "joystick1" by Windows when I hooked it up. My Logitech Extreme 3D was assigned joystick1. I downloaded a utility that allows you to slide the various controllers up and down the various joystick assignments. Once I moved the XBox 360 controller to position 1, the controller worked fine. It's a handy little utility called JoyIDs that loads into the start menu. Here's a link to download it if you need it:

Might be worth seeing if you can find the joystick when it isn't #1 Ken :/
