Fraps in Battlezone 1

Post by Vypor »

Is this possible?
I am attempting a "Let's Play" series, and was going to start it off with a simpler game to get the hang of it. I figured I might as well try Battlezone, if not just for the nostalgia factor.

But upon starting Fraps, and then Battlezone, nothing happens.
It doesn't seem to recognize that Battlezone is the real game. And instead, just records MSN or Firefox which is just sitting idle and minimized.

I haven't tried it with BZ 1.4 but FRAPS does work with 1.5 in hardware rendering mode.

Oh? Hardware rendering mode you say.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. I'm not a geek, but I know enough to get me by.

Could you explain perhaps?

Fraps works fine in 1.4 as well. But yeah, you need to be in hardware rendering mode (in BZ) but by and large that isn't a problem. Should be by default, anyway.

Alright, thanks for the info. I'm using 1.5. And I already figured out after posting how to do it.

Oh how I missed this game so...

Also, sup to Nielk if he pops on again. He'll know who I am. lol

I'm on there, but generally use my account for viewing since my skills are in audial arts rather than visual, which means I can't put much up because DA gets screwy over copyrights.

I have all sorts of vectors and 3D renders I should put up.

I should put my my additional BZ1 era race renders in there. (Tied it in back to the topic, sorta, at least the section.)

Do please good sir. Put em out there for other 3D artists to see.
Feedback is the greatest tool you can have as an artist, aside of practice that is.
